The snow is still a bit like me... ? Pure ? Lily White ? Soft?....Nah.. THICK.

This was the back garden patio on December 9th and then the 24th.

Give me a thought or two in the following year. I've lately been diagnosed COPD with an FEV1/FVC of 45%. Not a very good prognosis.

I will continue giging, the road crew carry my equipment and set it up..
It's singing my own songs and the high harmony lines to Bob's that are the most taxing..

Believe it or not, the doctor, nurses and surgery in general haven't put me in touch with ANYBODY regarding support or help in any way...I suppose the "National Elf Service" was overtaxed during Christmas !!

England, an estimated 842,100 of 50 million people have a diagnosis of COPD; translating into approximately one person in 59 receiving a diagnosis of COPD at some point in their lives.

Obviously I was too outspoken for too long and used up a lot of my available air..Albeit hot..

It's OK Frank, I'm coming to grips with it..mine is a result of the paralysis of my lungs from polio (For 5 years) and then smoking from when I was 12 until 2001 when I gave it up.

I stopped in time to avoid Lung Cancer, Unfortunately the COPD has no treatment regime, I may have been better of with Lung cancer. At least then there is surgery and Chemo and a chance of recovery.

My New Year Resolution is to never talk of it again..But the Charities that Bob and I will be contributing to this year will include these two:-

Basil i am so sorry to hear this news, i saw your post a couple of days ago, didnt know what the medical terms meant, but immediately text my good friend Breda, a nurse here in Mayo, she has text me back in detail of your condition, and knowing you from this forum, you will know the tough times that are ahead, and not have buried your head in the sand, i am gutted to hear this news, it was also pointed out to me by my friend Breda, that all of us gigging musicians have put our health on the line, 35 years in my case of smokey dance halls and pubs, who can ever forget how bad the smell off our hair, clothes and our gear from cigarette smoke, i have asthma, [mild, not chronic] which i didnt get till i was 40, im sure that is a legacy of our unhealthy work enviroment, despite your new years resolution Basil, im sure i speak for everyone on this forum, in hoping that you keep us updated on your work, and sharing your vast knowledge with us, very best wishes, Eddie
