Lloyd Green wrote: I wrote the tune in 1990, played it one time at the St. Louis steel show around that time. I fully intended to record it but….events occur and time flies by and I simply forgot about it. Fast forward to the present and a few months ago that live performance reappeared on a posting by Hank Ruf. So I thought it was still a pretty good melody that should be recorded in the studio. Hi Dave, Thanks for re-posting..the link was missing the last '0'...... ?v=GM7Fi2tqGo0 Downloaded this track a couple of weeks ago, and it blew me away. Super picking by Lloyd Will see you, and hopefully Carol next Tuesday @ 'Silver Dollar', Dorset.
At the risk of incurring the wrath of members of the Forum, (and despite being a big fan of Lloyd Green), I find this tune dull, dull, dull. The playing is exemplary, as you'd expect, but I struggle to find anything in this that is memorable or tuneful. It doesn't seem to have any particular musical form - it just meanders for three minutes or so, and then stops. Anybody concur?
