This is a new subscribable web site with Nashville's top session players.

Here is my friend Mike Johnson playing Joan Marie, a number he wrote himself. Mike, ever the tonehound, explains his studio rig which he has duplicated across a number of studios where he records regularly. He ran through this rig with me at the Hilltop Studio in Nashville last April, and it sounded as wonderful as it does here.

Someone (could have been Kevan Bartholomew) played this number at the Dublin steel festival a few months ago, and I can't remember who, but a fellow player asked me what the tune was called. I have signed up to this site, and while it is chargeable, I think it's worth every penny. There are clips from Mike Johnson, Randle Currie, Mike Daley, Steve Hinson, Gary Morse and others are planned.

I find it really interesting to see how many pulls Mike has on that Franklin of his. He has a whole bunch of nylon tuners on each neck.

Well done Ken.

An absolutely fabulous piece of playing and a master class in one.

I'd not heard of the guy or this site but will investigate further.

Cheers, Bob

Mike Johnson is one of the Masters. just look at Opry Reunion on youtube and listen to him. There's nothing he can't play. The band is amazing.

Hey Guys,

Greetings from the US! After some perusing online I came across your website and noticed this thread about my new website, http://www.nashvilleprosteel.com So, I signed up and will be available to answer any questions you have about the site or the players involved. Basically, the players are top session PROS in Nashville and they explain and demonstrate how they think and play on songs, come up with parts, intros, and solos, playing techniques, and how they get the best sounds with their gear.

It really is a great website and I know you will learn a lot, give it a try. And with the GBP to USD conversion, you Brits will get an even better deal, it's already less expensive than a cup of coffee a day! We're taking pedal steel guitar instruction into the 21st century, much more to come with new videos added every month. http://www.nashvilleprosteel.com

Here's another example, this one from the great and innovative RUSS PAHL, check it out...

How about one from RANDLE CURRIE, he records and tours with Brad Paisley...

Thanks for listening.

Thanks from me too Mark. Yours is a very professional site, the video recordings are first rate and the content is excellent. I will be interested to see if you can get Buck Reid and Tommy White on board. Youngster Eddie Dunlap in another fine up and coming player from Nashville.

I would suggest that you also set up Pay Pal facilities for the subscription service. Just makes things easier for the potential customer.

Hello Roy,

Thank You for your interest in the website. The monthly subscription price is $19.95 and the discounted quarterly (3 mos) rate is $49.95 prepaid. Both options feature recurring billing unless you want to cancel, which is very easy (click a button) and without any obligation. New videos are added every month and all past videos remain online for viewing anytime. We're building quite a database of instructional videos that will continue to grow.

I recently checked the GBP to USD exchange rate (on 3/19 via xe.com) and your fees in comparison were £13.54 and £33.91 respectively, that's a great deal for you guys.

Hello Ken,

Thank You for the kind words and suggestions, glad you enjoy the site. Since we're really new (launched in January) there's a lot of great things to come and plans for growing the website are well in the works. NPS is looking to be the premier source of steel guitar instruction online or anywhere.

To all... please spread the word and let your fellow steelies know about the website, any promotion would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.
