A guy called (was it Steve?) Conway - with a ZB - used to be around on Tyneside, but I think he moved away.
I have several contacts Malcolm, it's getting them together.........! But thanks for your input.
You know something; there were a few times I saw you billed locally (at the Cluny?) and never got the time to meet up, now I'm 50 miles away from the Toon it's even harder! But I'll try if poss. in future.

OK Nick, happy you flagged it up and I'll get onto it :guitar:

. The pub has occasional trad jazz bands on some Sunday lunchtimes, I'll check the diary tomorrow and pick a date or more as possibles. Can I presume an afternoon would suit? Meanwhile, let's start to get in touch with anyone who can come.

I think a noon till 5.00 or 6.00 pm would be more than enough - given the time it takes to get set up and in tune, we w3ouldn't be off much before 1.00. 4 hours, plus a break would do it, I'd have thought.
It might be useful (if the resources are available to circulate backing tracks - I have a few BIAB tracks, but not many) to suggest a couple of tunes that people could be familiar with before the day, maybe a 'party piece' each to perform, some 'technical' tips, a couple of licks to learn from the more experienced players, plus idly admiring each other's steels, amps etc - and the time will fly by!
I'll PM you with the backing tracks I've got, to see what you think.

Tony, Looks like things are starting to move, if it's of any interest I have a load of BIAB tracks that have built up over the last couple of years. SSGW is in it's 3rd year now, can't believe it. Do you have BIAB on your computer, or I can email some stuff to whoever you like. Donny.

Hi Donny, no I don't have BIAB - although guess I should. At he NESGF my backing "tracks" were always Dave, if you recall. (Actually he's not well just now - in a big way :cry:
