When the merest hint of Basil is too much!!!

This is a warning for any one of you that cannot stand Basil, Tesco have introduced a new line in Tomato soup and on my last visit there I picked up three tins of what I thought were good`ol heinz standard soup>>>> BUT! when I got it hme>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> and warmed it up I noticed these little green flecks in it AGHHH!!!!! it was BL$%DY oribble!
Let this be a warning to the rest of you....read small print on tin before grabbing........

Mmmmmmm, this particular Basil ISN'T a Herb..Though I do believe I'm quite difficult to tolerate sometimes, probably due to my Bombastic, Vitriolic and Egotistical persona..
My playing on the other hand is the antipode of that, and I firmly believe that the commonly occurring "Hatebasilitus" has absolutely NOTHING to do with my playing, (I've been told that, and that that's my only saving grace..)

The worst experience I had regarding tinned food was upon tasting those Salt and Sugar reduced "Heinz Baked Beanz" AND the similarly labelled "Tomatoe Soup"..they forgot the addendum :- "Taste-reduced"

BTW the apparent lax of correct spelling in the word <Tomatoe> IS intentional, the innuendo is obvious re: the taste.

Tangentially speaking, how many have sent off an ORIGINAL Tune to Bobby Lee's Compilation Project ?

You're obviously doing something right! Basil can become quite a large plant, given the right conditions.
You can use the older leaves, or the younger leaves, but it's best to discard leaves which are withering, browning and dying. To a taste test and see what you prefer. The older leaves may have a more robust flavour.

Basil can be frozen successfully. I simply put mine into a plastic airtight container. Some people find that basil leaves may go black with freezing. I've never had it happen to me - if it does, the leaves can still be eaten - it's only the appearance which is affected. To prevent this happening, blanch the leaves briefly before freezing them.
