Trying to figure out what to do with these, tried C6 tuning, did not really suit my taste, maybe try E7?

That 8 string looks a beauty. Just love it.

As for tuning - I favour C6 which if you are careful can cover a number of styles. If you go on this site to "Steel Guitar Tuition" and look for "Iconic Solos" it can be heard in the solo part of "Baker Street". This was C6 and overdriven. The rest of the steel parts were E9 pedal steel. I also use the same for a solo in "Road to Hell". This is where the high G in the C6 comes in, and therefore a minimum of 8 string. That way I don't have to change guitars for western swing style. Always a shame to take a different guitar out for one number.

I have just finished a bash around on "Remington Ride" which I shall probably put up and again this is C6. This was done on my converted ZB 10 string and I string it with a high G and a D.
