Cruachan

Something I've been working on for a few weeks. Cruachan is a mountain on the West Coast of Scotland, between Crainlarich and Oban, when I was younger I used to sit below this mountain if anything was troubling me and would always feel better afterwards. Anyway, here it is,

Geoff that's perfect for a film background score... you could make a fortune if someone picks it up....very restful, I did a version of "Old Cape Cod" and someone wanted to use it for video background... but it was only a B&B in cape cod so there was no gain in it but still a nice compliment....

Thanks very much guys, coming from the quality of players on this forum, it's a big compliment. Though I suspect it's probably more the overall arrangement than my pedal steel playing, getting there though. Spent the first 6 months of this year doing a lot of right hand exercises, Joe Wright course, and it seems to be paying off.

Yes, I play all the instruments, all real, analogue, except for the Harmonium which is a sampler. I'm using - Classical guitar, Takamine acoustic, Electric Upright Bass, Variety of percussion instruments, Yamaha Flute, Carter U12 Pedal Steel.

I bought one of these funny cheapo capo's from China, it has selectable fingers on it for each string so you can choose which strings to capo or not. I stuck it on the 2nd fret of the classical and left off strings 1,2 and 6, which gives a DADGAD tuning ( in E). The difference is though that you can still play "normal" chords as you are not dropping any string in pitch relative to the nut, whew!

Anyway, it makes for some pretty interesting chords and the original song came from a progression I was mucking about with.

Got it at last by going on to my PC.
