BAZ, SORRY FOR TAKING SO LONG TO REPLY, I HAD TO TAKE STEP BACK AND CONSIDER WHAT TO SAY. I HAVE DECIDED TO JUST ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS AS BEST I CAN. SWEET MEMORIES IS IN G BECAUSE ONE OF THE NEW GUYS HAS A BACKING TRACK IN G AND HE ASKED IF WE COULD DO IT IN G. SIMPLE AS THAT.
FOOL SUCH AS I IS IN F BECAUSE I USED TO SING IT IN F AND WHEN IT WAS SUGGESTED I WENT STRAIGHT TO F. IF YOU ARE NOT DOING A VOCAL YOU HAVE THE LUXURY OF PLAYING IN THE ORIGINAL KEY, IF YOU CANNOT SING IN THAT KEY YOU HAVE TO CHANGE IT. BOTH TUNES I LOOKED ON THE NET FOR THE CHORD CHARTS. THAT'S ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT.
I AND THE REST OF THE GUYS WOULD BE DELIGHTED IF YOU WOULD COME ALONG TO OUR MEETING ON THE 26TH OR ANY OF THE OTHER DATES. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL ABOUT MAKING IT MORE OF A SEMINAR, I'M SURE AN EVENING SPENT WITH YOU COULD TEACH US A LOT MORE THAN OUR BRAINS COULD TAKE, BUT IT WOULD BE WORTH IT, AND WE WON'T EVEN CHARGE YOU THE £5.00 EVERYONE HAS TO PAY. PERHAPS YOU COULD DO A 20MIN SPOT AND THEN IMPART A BIT OF YOUR WISDOM. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK. DONNY.
PS: I HAVE DONE BIAB TRACKS FROM YOUR CHORD CHARTS, THEY SOUND GREAT THANK YOU.

Thanks for the reply Donny, I don't wish to encroach on your regular meetings and format, BUT I would be delighted to have the opportunity to play a couple of solo numbers and maybe chat a bit about steel and music related topics. Maybe even discuss the best way to adjust the tuners for the "Splits Tuning".

I'll reply in full a little later after NCIS and a snack..
Meanwhile here is an mp3 using the chords of Elvis's version but in "F"..

BTW JD's idea on the intro is somewhat smart isn't it ?

Yip! Liked the Elvis mp3 thrown into BIAB... Baz it rocks just fine ...

But whilst the Eb version of Sweet Memories might be note perfect I still prefer it in G as I prefer some of the lower end chords that would be wiped away in Eb so I hope you still have the old version Donny (warts ‘n all!) I’ll play that one. Just hit us with some chords and we’ll play round them as we always do, the fact that they may not be the right ones is really neither here nor there ....

Our ethos is not to achieve perfection but to enjoy our passion with some enthusiasm and have fun along the way, that's what we set out to do and have done repeatedly over the last 18 months.

I'm in your camp here Bob. while I, like many love the joy of getting it right music wise, I think back to my first guitar "band" (there was eight of us) 12-13 year olds. I doubt we had a proper chord between us but lord we rocked :o. and boy we had fun! :D it was skiffle mind 8-) :guitar: :guitar: === Baz.
