Got them thanks to Bob Adams.
I realise what I'm going to say will probably close the door to me at your get-together and please do NOT take this the wrong way, practising to the wrong chords will help no-one..
Also I'm slightly confused! about the Time Jumpers version, is it as per this video ? If so the chords sent to me are WAY wrong..and the keys should be Eb-G-Eb and the tempo is 64.181

Yeah it's easier to play the John Hughey solo if it's faster (the tempo of the BIAB file I was sent is 70bpm) MUCH harder to get the required sustain at the correct speed, but far more desirable to at least try..

I'm also having a similar problem with "Fool Such as I"
The middle chords of "A fool Such as I" are so wrong that you can't play the correct melody for the line "You taught me how to love and now, you say that we are through.."
They SHOULD be [5...] [27...] [5.4.] [57...] (dominant, double dominant seventh, dominant, sub dominant, dominant seventh..) in F that would be C, G7, C, Bb C7....
Would you like the correct chords of the complete song/tune? and why F ? The original was in C..

This is a backing for Sweet Memories that I've just thrown together using the chords from the time Jumpers version. (as per above)
In particular, the passing chord from the tonic to it's seventh prior to the subdominant is essential, as are quite a few others.

The BIAB file is Click HERE
The PDF is Here
I can appreciate that you may wish to 'dumb down' the chords, but so many of the pivotal ones are omitted that I feel I should say it's not helping anyone to improve if they are playing to the wrong chord structure..
Again, apologies if I upset anyone, but practising with incorrect chords is not a good thing to do..

Reading this I can see I'm coming over as a dick-head, but that's not the case, just ask JD about what I do to help ANYONE..
At anytime I'm only too willing to transcribe the chords from any tune you wish that's causing problems.
Just send me an mp3 and 10 minutes later you'll have the "Real Deal" -- Gratis and with a hearty and a half. (This applies to anyone here)..
BTW in THIS folder there are individual wav files of the acoustic guitars (4) the bass, piano and drums of the above Sweet Memories track.

Re.Basil. I feel compelled to write something here so, here goes,
For those of you that don`t know him, Basil`s knowledge and experience of all things Steel guitar/production and music are legend, as is his attention to detail and getting things right IMHO he has probably forgotten more than I will ever learn and also in his defence I would assure you that his heart IS in the right place......... However, (here rests the council for defence,)

He has not always been the sharpest tool in the box when it comes to imparting that knowledge and help as, he takes no prisoners, does not suffer fools etc etc. BUT, if you can get past that and embrace the help that is offered you will gain far more than you lose....... , Basil benchmark is way above what most of us on here with a few possible exceptions will atain and I thank him for the help he has given me. ;)

I echo what John said.Baz IS one of the most helpful guys in the steel world, but as John said he tells it like it is, and absolutely no offence is meant( thing is, the bu**ar is always right) .I am gutted that I will not make next meeting as playing that night, seeing and learning from Baz is not to be missed. :D

Very good job Basil. BIAB is such a great tool for creating an instant backing track to play along to. However, it does help to have a perceptive ear not just to hear the chords, but also the bass line too because the bass determines the ultimate chord. How many folks here would know a 7b9 (or a m7b9 come to that) if they heard it?

Phew, I was waiting with bated breath for the flaming. Thanks guys for understanding. I've oft been accused of being arrogant and self opinionated, well I, (and others) dispute that claim:
arrogant |ˈarəg(ə)nt|
adjective
having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities: he's arrogant and opinionated | a typically arrogant assumption.

I do NOT have an exaggerated opinion of my abilities, I, myself, and most of my friends know the extent of them..

Continuing, I believe that the internet is the largest library of misinformation in the world, one needs to sift through the the flotsam and jetsam and separate the wheat from the chaff..
BUT Notwithstanding all that, a search (using Google) for the chords, took 0.26 of a second and yielded 112,000 results most of which were close..

Diligence should be exercised when imparting information to others, especially less experienced players, or even beginners.

Less than one second on Google would have confirmed that not only is the key wrong for the average listener's ear,*, but the chords of the 'version' (proposed to use) are drastically deficient, nay downright wrong..
* The lowest recorded ones key is A and the highest register is D, the subliminal effect of hearing the tune in an un-singable key (in the the mind of the listener) is a sure way to get them to switch off.
Finding a key for convenience on the Steel guitar should NOT be the yardstick, after all we can play in any key with far less difficulty that other instruments: Just shift all the position up or down the required amount..

I have not found a version of “A Fool Such as I” in F, and the middle section chords are correct in every one I’ve found.
The tonal centre changes momentarily to the 5…NOT a 57..
Also quite unusual is the use of the sub-dominant as a 4 seventh. Obviously influenced by the Jordanaires harmony.
Also quite a few versions follow the 4 chord in the middle section with a 4# dim before the 1..
The tempos vary as one would expect, BUT the Elvis one is the definitive one as far as the vox populi is concerned. It’s in C and the tempo is 130 (129.898)

Here is the BIAB file of the Elvis one in C..klicke bitte hier
This is what most of the world is familiar with:-

A list of some of the others I've found.
Jim Reeves A (Slow version) (http://youtu.be/Aena-3KN9DQ),
Hank Snow A (Foxtrot) (http://youtu.be/qtJz_Wm-gG0), both use the diminished after the subdominant in the ‘B’ Section,
Bobby Helms D (Foxtrot) (http://youtu.be/WUCKbqB_b_4),
Elvis Presley C (The definitive version, biggest hit etc) (http://youtu.be/OkATTrmyF1M)
Baillie and the Boys A (foxtrot) (http://youtu.be/mxgzAEIL8Tg) GREAT version !!
Rodney Crowell D (Foxtrot) (http://youtu.be/HrNII6Y8nC8)
You can see the chords here Rodney and Emmylou (http://youtu.be/m2MS7wlMgw0)
Rodney Emmylou Rosanne Cash & Albert Lee, with Rodney singing the wrong words !!(http://youtu.be/iI1s-Ui-uts)
Jo Stafford G (Foxtrot) (http://youtu.be/OOjniZUMiYc) Jazz version and the key is not relative in this version.
I knew Jo and still correspond with her son, she had perfect pitch you know !

Definition of a perfect pitch ?
Throwing a solicitor/politician/estate agent,* over a cliff, feel free to insert you preference here..

Apologies to Donny, Bob Adams and all for Hi-Jacking the meeting thread but I thought it apropos and germane.. and felt it necessary to point out the errors in the BIAB files.

Ken Byng wrote:How many folks here would know a 7b9 (or a m7b9 come to that) if they heard it?

Well said Ken, ear training is all. That's why I've posted this, listen to the wrong chords long enough and they'll start to sound right (But only too the indoctrinated one)..
The 'half diminished' (m7b5) is all over so much music but rarely discussed over here. Stateside, its use is widespread across the board of genre espèce.

I'll reiterate, I really do want to come and join in at your next meeting, and am quite prepared to go along with however you do it (Even with the BIAB files as sent to me)
Is the playing done like a round robin long session or individual items per player..?

Baz, sorry I can't be there as playing that night.Format is normally round robin of previously arranged numbers, then we normally have a one to one session with newbie and experienced player, after that it varies , from any number someone has worked on , to some of guys singing and letting players do fills etc.I am pretty sure if you were there it would be very much appreciated if you could do a couple of numbers, am sure Donny would go along with that.
