Hi Timefortapas,
Thanks for your kind comments.
The scale length is 25", so it has quite a good sustain, even using Pine for the body. I used GHS C6th strings.
You're right about the Princeton, I played with the tone controls and eventually got it sounding how I like it, but it's not as easy as getting a good tone from the Roland Cube 20w. I also like the Delay on the Roland as it saves me having to set up my Zoom GF-707 pedal unit. Having said that, you can use the Zoom as a Delay and a Volume pedal!
Regards.
Keith.

Good thing about Rolands is that they have a nice compressed sound, makes almost anything very round sounding, perfect to tame real trebly lap steels, they're plug&play amps. Fenders are great too, but you have to drop the treble almost down to zero... and they're much less compressed sounding, you need to fiddle with the controls to get a nice sound.

I use a Boss compressor pedal on my Fenders to tame some of the high end :guitar:

Hello Charlie (Timefortapas)
Yes I like the Roland amp sound. I'm going to dig out the Zoom pedal and set it up with the Princeton so I should get a similar result. It also has a Stereo output socket so it would be interesting to play it through the two amps. Thank god for retirement, we have plenty of time to mess around with our hobbies!
If Tony reads this, I've booked 3 tickets as supporters for the NESGF in August. Looking forward to it.

Hi flester,
I didn't make the fretboard, I wish I had those skills! They're actually made by Bruce Wei , a businessman with a factory in Vietnam. He uses CNC technology and Laser cutters. He uses Mother of Pearl and Abalone for the inlays. If you go to eBay and search on Lap Steel fingerboards you'll see his products. Some are fixed price, around $85 (US) and others are "make me an offer". If you initially offer about 50% of his asking price he'll come back with a slightly higher offer and you'll end up paying around 60% of the asking price. I have bought 3 from him and the most I've paid was £37 incl postage.
Regards,
Keith.

Mine is just MDF painted matt black and the frets marked with a silver paint marker. Your guitar looks great anyway.
