Thanks for the replies chaps...Bob, i went into work this afternoon[this is where i store the guitar!]and tried out your suggestion...i know you are right because you designed the parts, its just that the plank is too short when scaled up! so the horns hang over the wood by about an inch... also is it usual to have such a high action [nut end]23mm? on my SX its only 10mm!...One solution i can think of is to get a flat/flush? nut made[20mm] that goes flush up against a raised board[shobud stylee]10mm thick...screw said nut into board allowing for a 10mm raised nut...then position horns into your suggested position in photo! does that make any sense? :? :? :?

Sounds like a plan Terry, PSGs are generally 15mm board to string height.

Time to think about what i'm gonna use to seal/finish the plank off ie varnish/laquer/wax etc..i really like the look of said plank as it is so want a clear matt finish...
[Q] Can anyone suggest anything?

also im going to try a different tuning[im used to 6 string C6 CEGACE]...
[Q] Suggestions for hillbilly bop/ 50s western swing stylee sound tuning [bare in mind i'm a novice so nowt too complicated please!]

All the metal work is ready for fitting so hopefully i'll fit that today to check it looks ok before treating the plank, also gotta fit the pickup then get it all wired up! oooh i'm getting excited again ;) regards Terry
