I saw your post after reading about questions not being answered - it might be, of course, that nobody knows the answer; but-
Here's a (rough) photo of a homebuilt S-8 "Acme" (1980ish) that I painted using normal spray cans. By starting at the centre and overspraying bit by bit it came out the way I wanted. Each new colour was commenced quite a distance from the guitar and brought nearer as it go further from the centre, using big circular movements. Not tobacco sunburst, but my impression of the Fender 400 - 2000 range from 1960's
You might be able to find suitable colours and do a job yourself? I don't know if the project is a valuable antique or (as mine) something you've made. Anyway here's some response
