New member in Perthshire - tuition sought

Postby DavidHart » Thu Dec 26, 2013 5:27 pm

Hello. I've just recently got myself a basickest-of-basic 3 pedal, 1 lever 'White' brand PSG in e9th, and I'm wondering if there are any players in my local area that would be willing to either give me some one-to-one lessons on some sort of formal basics, or at least meet up for a session or two to show me the basics of the tricky right-hand picking and blocking techniques.

I'm in Blairgowrie, so my nearest towns are Perth and Dundee. Anyone know any names I should try to contact?

Thanks very much.

Hi
I don't know if you are aware of a brilliant site that takes you right back to basics. Go to the Sierra Steel guitar web site and look for lessons. They are given by Joe White, a well respected steelie from the U.S. He takes it right from basics and after seeing this I started to take note. I had been playing for years but then realised after seeing this that my picking was all up the creek. A brilliant starting point and it improved my playing.

Just so you are all aware David is not being left to his own devises!

Him and I were to have a one-2-one this evening but he has developed a stinking cold/flu thing so we have set it back to next Monday!

I'm sure he will be on here when he feels better. but I thought y'all should know his request for help had not been ignored, not withstanding my involvement I will certainly encourage him to all tuition sites and links.
