
With mutual respect Richard, I regard Gordon as much as a steel Pioneer as any of them and I can tell you that when he built his first steel he did`ent copy anyone as at that time he had not seen one close up and he just built a guitar to play the changes he could hear listening to the radio, it was pure chance his pedal set up was the same as Jimmy Day and I am sure that had he realised Emmons peddled the other way around a lot more Brit players would be playing “Emmons”.
I don`t know what lever configuration Jimmy Day used but yes, floor pedals the same
So when I say Huntley /Day set up I have covered both bases and given both men the respect I believe they deserve as my knee levers are the same as Gordon used.
Don`t much care if I confuse any of our USA friends as this is the British Steelies site if they don`t know about Gordon (and I know a lot that do) then that’s their loss and I am not prepared to let our steel heritage go down the tubes without a fight,
