First lesson for steel beginners.

Need input from the aged players, first effort from me, do you understand what is happening, be picky, let me know as I would like to do more for the newby's, and I think this is a little better than looking at hand's and feet, a littel vocal input make's it a little more personal.

An afterthought, as is with Silver Surfers, the chord chart.

Slim, aged players is one thing but who's that old fart in the hat??? ;) where did you get him from? :D

On a serious note- Works well, easy to understand, being nit picky would say that volume of re recorded sample piece at begining could go down in the mix a bit (nearly blew me of my settee. :) ) The ommision of which strings to use?? might be handy for the very new to it guys and gals to at least give em the first A chord grip, just a thought, trying to imagine sitting down as a complete new un aint easy for the old uns.
Great stuff and sure it will be helpful for folks, one thing-you have smack ont is the easier explained the better.
Dave.

Thanks Dave, thou having taken me ages to transfer the file from camara to comp the music is in the mix so will have to warn viewer's to be ready to turn down vol befor it comes up.
On viewing again i'm starting to see items that need to be addressed,i.e. sliding down to Db instead of C#, also not telling what pedals to press when going up to the A at the C position to turn it into an A i.e. 1st pedal and E to F the first time around, but I will learn as I teach and pass it on, thank's again for the input, glad you like the format, thought it would be better if the newby's were treating it as a one to one, may even throw in the odd joke  just to make them feel at home.

Slim, dont change too much, send em on a voyage of discovery, I find it helps a lot to point em in the right direction but let them get there themselves.
Hard part with giving tuition of any kind is reverting our own minds back to basics, aint easy when you have picked for many years and do things naturaly.
Best of luck with it, keep em coming.

Jokes????? hope they are better than some I heard you tell years ago :D :D ;)

Slimbo, thanks for a super free lesson.Don't worry about the format, you've nailed it first time. very easy to follow and a very layed back style,(reminded me of Jack Hargreaves)and the chord chart too.Well done, I'll look forward to more.======= Baz in London E9 ===67yrs of old and steel in denial, :P :guitar: :guitar:

Slim, nice comprehensive reply from Nutty :), I did`ent like to mention it but he is right about the volume of the music , it does rather take you by suprise ...... but its ok, I have managed to get the stain out of my old swivel seat with some of that "vanish" stuff..... (still smells a bit though  )

Hi Slimbo, many thanks for the effort to teach us Newbies, or should that be Numpties, a few wrinkles with a very nice song. I tried drinking the five cups of green tea a day, and you were right, it did get me up and running

It is now nearly 12 months since I visited the legendary John D and stole a Sho-Bud off him and, whilst I have made good progress with technique, thanks to John's U Tube posts, and eventually coming to terms with the Day set-up which I now much prefer, working away from home does limit my practice opportunity. Understandably, whilst I enjoy getting home at weekends to relax, my wife wants to get away from it all - usually in the Camper Van. However, I can spend evenings in the hotel with the Forum and take great inspiration from lessons such as your's, and all the other useful chat. Like you said, none of this existed years ago, it was up to trial and effort.

I'm looking forward to trying this when I get home this weekend. Please don't be intimidated by the accomplished players, this Newbie / Numptie thinks it is very worthwhile.

Many thanks and kind regards, H.
