Nashville

So, i got to Nashville a few hours ago and took a trip straight out to see Jeff Surrat who is Show Pro guitars...lovely chap and I'm sure he's gonna do a great job on my old sho bud..
In his workshop is a guitar that he is building for Tommy White...it looks amazing...i took a photo but don't have the right lead to get it up on here

Bob, if you're listening he said you had done a great job and he's gonna let me know the secret of 'the curse of the sho bud' so in future the british steelies won't have to make the trek out to Tennessee to get it put right

If anything other exciting steel related things happen out here I'll let y'all know.....be good

Christ Bob, the guys a genius!!! He's getting on it tomorrow, should be finished by thursday....my first night on broadway, got chatting to Rich Gilbert who had just finished playing in Laylas' and was walking down the street with an old sho bud. He told me that the bar i was drinking in (Roberts) was were my old bud was made!!! Apparently that used to be Shot Jacksons' place and they made sho buds on the 2nd floor...magic

Tommy Hannum was playing in Roberts, he's a lovely bloke too, with a gorgeous old d10 emmons. I noticed that one of his knee levers was a push lever, rather than a left, right or up movement lever, pretty cool...and he gave me his cd too, top man!!!

Also in Roberts was Brad Albin, playing bass in the band with Tommy. Brad plays with the time jumpers and he's also a great guy....i guess you never know who you're going to bump into in this town...I love it already...I have to try and sleep now

Yip it all surrounds Roberts!! I struggled to sleep too, I couldn't get my mouth to shut after watching Guthrie Trapp on the Tele! Exactly as per this clip!

So I got my steel back from Jeff earlier this afternoon...he's put right the 2nd string pull and also added a 2nd string raise with RKL, real nice...also Bob, he moved the rod connectors on pedals A and B to the notch nearer the pedal bar and moved where the rods meet the bell cranks to the closest hole to the body....he said this is how they should be and it has made the pedals move smoother and easier to engage..

Expect an email from him about this, that and the other...he was such a nice chap he even gave me a sho bud t shirt..
