Postby Paulcouk » Mon Sep 13, 2010 9:27 pm

Hello I am a new member Paul
I have just received my first steel Carter pro 10 3 floor and 5 knee leavers,
I am total new to the pedal steel, although I did start on lap 6 string which I made..
the steel was an unexpected Present, although I will continue on the lap, my true love would be to be able to play country on the pedal..
I live in South west wales,
Thank you Regards Paul

Hi Paul, Good to see you here, I am going to see a man who lives (I guess) not far from you who has been playing since the 70’s he may be able to give you some pointers! I’ll have a word with him when I see him should you be looking for any help! And of course Roy Heap (Mr BSS) has a monthly meeting in Bristol. ;)

Glad you made it here Paul, I told you there was a lot of steel players around.. The Bristol Meeting is the place for you to pick up some important pointers.
Do NOT practise without using the volume pedal, and remember it may be called a volume pedal but it's actually used as a "Swell Pedal" like an organist would do.
Don't forget to join the European forum as well.. http://www.chanos-isgf.org/ForumESG/index.php
