BLACK WIDOW 12 INCH SPEAKER

Postby Jimmy Gibson » Wed May 30, 2012 9:10 pm

I have given up on trying to get my Peavey LA 400 repaired, the amp tech had it for three month and could not find the fault with it distorting,so i have removed the amp and want to sell the Black Widow in the cab,if it sells and the buyer wants it i will give the amp free.BUT I would prefer it to be collected . But i Will send if the buyer makes arrangments for it to be collected.

The speaker is in great working order..

Open to any decent offer.

Jimmy, there's no way it's that hard to track down if he can get a circuit schematic. Even the intermittent faults invariably show up if you crank it up far enough. I could look at it for you. Where are you in the UK?

Hi Will, that would be fantastic, but the problem is i live in Cornwall and it would cost a lot to send the amp ,maybe i could just send the amp if you have speakers to test it with.i see you have one of Bernards steels, great little steels.i nearlly had one.

Just to say the amp distorted even at low volume,on both the clean and overdrive channels the amp tech said he replaced several components, brought it to a gig i was playing at,it`s a good job i had a spare because it was just the same ,and he had it for over 3 month,

The fault was not intermitant it was there all the time.

Thanks Jimmy.

Yes, Jimmy, the Curnow is a nice instrument although there was some cutting of corners in converting it from Left to Right handed that I wouldn't have been happy to release if I was working on it. I've tweaked it little by little to suit me over the last year that I've had it.

Are you coming up this way for any event this year? I love a challenge....
