Not many clubs like this one

Postby Zumbilly(Murdoch) » Sun May 20, 2012 7:46 am

Our band played a club last night and the paymaster gave our leader the money in an envelope just before our last set.
As We were packing up The paymaster gave our leader another envelope with a bonus, they said that everyone was so pleased with our efforts that it was decided to give us a bung.
That is certainly very gratifying and is a "FIRST" for Me.

That's heartwarming to hear that there's folks like that about. You must have played a blinder and it's good to know that people appreciate it and want to thank the musicians. Looking at the time of your post, were you up all night spending the extra?

If Zumbilly fell in the River Clyde he would come out smelling of roses and a salmon in each pocket!!! Reminds me of that quaint old Scottish saying Money goes to Money.

nice little story to hear in these austere times Billy, i have had to partially re invent myself just to keep gigging, as one half of a duo, using backing tracks, just playing lead guitar, sadly leaving the steel at home, a sign of the times, we are struggling to get paying gigs for the six piece band, and its a good band,
Malcolm, our Scottish dates are 31st august till 2nd september, but i honestly dont know if i will stick with it, or concentrate on the duo, gotta keep the bills paid,
Carter sd10 USA Fender Telecaster, digitech rp155, Goodrich ldr2 vp, peavey nashville 112 electro-voice, Roland 80XL,

Can understand that Eddie, it is a long way to go right up to Thurso, that's why we don't do it, means taking day off work driving six hours, staying overnight, and six hours back. For a six piece it is just not financially worth it. Makes sense to protect your regular gigs, if you do it still welcome to call in.Malcolm.
