Had a chat with Ken this evening, he sounds chirpy, says he doubts he will be steeling for a while.
He has been a lucky teddy, thankfully caught the problem in time, so! should be ok from now on.
I told him you guys where all rooting for him, he was chuffed at the thought.

Just heard. Hope you're feeling a bit better Ken.

You can only go when we say so and it's nowhere near that time, so you are ordered to get well soon.

Just remember all those steel guitars of yours are going to wilt without a bit of a touch up now and again.
Let's face it, we all need a bit of a touch up now and again....

Spirits up and Best Wishes to you and the wife.

So sorry to hear this sad news. we've been mates for many years and I wish Ken a speedy recovery. Good to hear you are "Chirpy", as you have much more to give & pass on to the "steel community & extended family". ( Nil Desperandum).

My best wishes to you Ken and a speedy recovery

Colin Goss

Now a note to all steelies over the age of 50

At the age of 50 I was persuaded to have a wellman check at the local hospital. They found that I had haemochromatosis - which for those of us with no medical background, means that I collect too much iron in my blood. Untreated, it can lead to kidney and liver failure, diabetes - the list goes on - and a possibly early death. They now take a pint and a half of blood each year and it keeps the correct level.

I have continued to have a wellman check EVERY year - this year they found a slight heart murmur, but on further investigation, it is not significant.

MY MESSAGE IS

If you are 50 or over, Consider this as an annual routine.

Far better to find the problem early.

Good health to all my fellow steelies

I got this text from Ken last night, I am sure he won't mind me sharing it with you all.

I am still under sedation bob. I tried 2 walk a short distance 2day, but where the angeoplasty wire went in my groin i have had blood leakage into my thigh & its really painful. The seepage area is very large, but the 4 stents are in perfectly. Can u thank everyone 4 their kind thoughts. Our community is incredible. Regards, Ken

I know he appreciates your continued thoughts and prayers, thank you.
