In the six years of playing here in Corfu I housed my effects in a tool case but in reverse meaning the effects
were housed in the lid and the bottom storage became the lid, it worked well !
The effects I used were , a Boss crossover switch, a Zoom G-2 multi effect unit and a Behringer Tube thingy,
because the 1976 Fender Pro Reverb I used was demolished in the van when one of the PA bass bins fell on it,
my good friend, Bob Adams gave me a fender Pro 185 ,using the tube thingy a valve sound was achieved.
It appears that my playing as "The Good 'ole Boys" is over as Russ, my oppo is returning to the Uk to live in
July and there is a great shortage of muso's here in Corfu.

Hi Guys will just throw my take on it into the pot , I play steel and guitar into the same amp but steel for me although I have been playing since 1979, it's still my second instrument so I favour the guitar tone, so to this end I use a Mesa Boogie Rectoverb which is stunning amp for guitar and because the clean channel is iso clean and top end quality it works for steel too . Ove the years I have had the Peavey Session also. Used a mark 2B boogie for a While too .
I also will me mention that when I changed over to the boogie recently our sound engineer comented on how much he loved the new sound , I wotkwith Eagles tribute band Talon and we use a faily big rig for theatre gigs .
I run a bossBCB peal bard with stomp boxes into the effects loop on he amp with chorus two DD3s and tuner and quality overdrive pedal booster pedal it's a really good set up an loud.
On stage we use in ear monitors but I have an A/B switch and switch the internal speaker to a 1x12 Mesa boogie cab across the right side of the stage as the steel is situated opposite side to the guitar set up this works really well as the speaker in the amp cuts out and does not interfere with the other guys on stage .

Off topic I know, but great band you guys have,heard the real thing many years ago,you guys run the Eagles sound very very close.

I took up the psg in 2014 and am now at the stage where I 'm gigging it,mafter a lot of hard work and fun- ppthank you Jeff N.
I bought new a WBS Basic 3+4 E9 Emmons setup, as I wasn't sure we'd connect. The WBS is a very good guitar for the price. It's amazingly stable, is well engineered, with a simple undercarriage compared to other 3+4 makes I 've seen. It sounds great through my gear and it holds its tuning very well. Thank you Wolfgang for making psg accessible to people like me. I'm afraid I'm hooked on it and may in time trade up. Retired from the day job, it's a great interest!

Just to broaden this thread out a bit more, has anyone any suggestions for getting decent sounds out of steel, Tele and acoustic with the minimum number ( and weight) of amps? I have just bought a Fender Acoustosonic (or whatever it is called) which is supposed to do duty as an acoustic and electric amp. It's so-so as far as electric is concerned, but sounds awful with the acoustic . I use a Nashville 112 for the steel. Cheers, Andy.

The Fender Acoustasonic 150 is a superb amp, so if your guitar sound is "so so" and the acoustic is "Dreadful" I venture to suggest that it's all in the settings..I know 'cause I have one and use it for steel, electric solid, electric Jazz guitar, acoustic reso and acoustic 6 string, both nylon and steel strung..I also use a NV112 and Fender Steel King for steel guitar, but prefer the Fender Acoustasonic 150. (It is very light)
This is a 150 on a Fender 1000..

If I use one amp I use my "split" Vegas with 1x12 or1x15 Telonics. Steel-Expression/Vol pedal- Chanel 1 -zoom cdr70 send and return.. Guitar zoom G7.1ut Chanel 2.
I prefer 2 amps Nashville 112 or Quilter Pro Block with cdr70 for steel and second Pro Block fed by Zoom G7.1ut for Guitar
