Hey Everyone

I must have been the first to visit David Hartley for a Day.

My problem was that the sound I had was awful.

David quickly identified the problem as my amp and effects.

I now have a defined sound, which I owe to David.

I went back many times with music I wanted to play.

I believe beginners or the more advanced player will benifit from a day with David.

John Russell

PS.

Bring a sausage for TEX :)

HARTLEY'S JAM
The finest ingedients and excellent value.
I have had a steel for 30 years and never made a concerted effort to conquer the thing. A few hours with David was just what I needed to give me a boot up the backside. The man is a genius-from the welcome bacon sarnie on arrival to the air conditioner in the studio (it was 30 deg c outside) it was certainly a day to remember. And well worth the 200 mile round trip. David took time to evaluate my bad habits (mainly using the vol pedal like a foot pump....) and set up my amp for best sound. Besides being able to witness his storming licks/fills/intros he showed me how to use effects (delay/e-bow,and I particularly liked the dobro) he helped me with some very useful moves. And as it says on the jar,he commits the lesson to mp3 files for you so you can go on learning at home & dont miss a thing.Oh and you get a goody bag of his excellent tuition dvds too. It will take me months to polish what I have been shown, but I will be back for a top up/inspiration/motivation in future. Thanks again David.

I've had a couple of lessons with David and I found them very useful. Dave shows you alot of new things that I could never work out by myself for example live intros and endings etc. and his approach to teaching is a nice laid back way. I'll be back for a lesson soon Dave after the Irish Steel Convention, hope you enjoy it in Ireland.
Kind Regards.

REHEARSAL / TUITION STUDIO IS UPGRADED

Postby David Hartley » Sat Oct 08, 2011 2:19 am

Hi, many thanks everyone. I've completed the final stage in the rehearsal room now.
Not only does it have 1600 watt Martin Audio PA, Rains SD10 Hartley for use for any new students who don't own a steel as yet, it has the latest Telonics Rig with Evans Cabs for the steel and Tannoy monitoring but now...
NEW.....! An 8 ft cinema screen that can be lowered and projects an overhead of my steel in high definition when it's not projecting tuitional material and tabs.

Don't forget about Daves BBQ pit just outside the studio which is under the canopy so it's all year round service from that, and you know I always look after anyone who comes here with breakfast, dinner and tea as well.

There is one room available for accommodating anyone who needs it also.

So, come and have an hour or two, a half day, a full day, or longer at the Hartley studios, the house of steel guitar.

01359 268704 or 07976 976634 for bookings.

Had a great day at David's last week. I picked up a lot of tips and techniques and everything was recorded so that I have loads of homework to do! A very inspiring day.
I can also strongly recommend the BBQ!

Thanks Dave
