Eq tweaks for pa system

Postby Roland » Sat Mar 22, 2025 8:02 am

I perform regularly with the Pedalsteel but the person who is in the venue and controls the sound often not know how a Pedalsteel should sound. Does anyone have a list of EQ tweaks I can give to the sound mixer? Many thanks in advance.

Set up your own sound the way you want to hear it, then when sent to board ( Mic or DI) tell him to leave EQ on board flat and not to change your sound.

I should have added, some soundguys will not like this, but just dig your heels in. There are some great sound guys out there, but there are a lot more not so great ones who have never encountered a pedal steel, normally referred to as Slide Guitar by them. I make a point of not answering them , and pointedly say “ Oh, you mean pedal steel guitar” ;)
