What a sad day! Russ was a true Gentleman and such fun to be around, not only fantastic steel player, but an incredible guitarist as well. he played one of my acoustic guitars (an Ovation Legend) in the back room at one of Gerry's Festivals, and said to me I hate Ovations, but I love this one, can I buy it or perhaps swap it for my steel? I laughed thinking it was a joke, however my acoustic player for the weekend who I had lent the guitar to, so he could play it on my set, said on the way home, that American player chap, said to him he was serious about the offer and was surprised you didn't take him up on it.
RIP Russ
