Lap Steel Update

I've been a bit quiet of late so thought i'd better let everyone know I'm still alive. As you know I enjoyed my bit of stardom at the London Palladium but just doing nice fills etc is not exciting enough for me. I got myself a lovely MSA E9/B6 Universal pedal steel and sold the Sho-Bud. Its a lovely guitar but I keep going back to my Remington lap steel. Having played around with the pedals I have found out that I can still get most of whats there without pedals. So - big decision. I'm taking my lap steel out next time with Essex County (If they pay me-- I'm owed). Anyway I have recently been getting in to Gipsy Jazz on guitar. It's great stuff and really something to get your teeth in to. a nice bit of Django. But here's the best bit. I'm now playing some of this on lap steel. It's great fun. So watch this space. And oh yes. My C6 neck has now been changed to the Buddy Emmons C6 with the D on top - so another learning curve finding the alternatives to the use of the old G. "I'll See You In My Dreams" by Django Reinhardt will be my first tune. See his version on YouTube and see the challenges. It's gonna be great fun.

Oh and did I mention my latest venture of glider pilot training. That's another story.
