John, you do yourself down on the evidence of your video. Lovely C6 licks.
The Conchord is a strange beast. The tuners are pretty crude, and necessitated some unusual string runs between the tuners themselves and the nut slots to keep the string tunings as reliable as possible. However, it all functions OK and stays in tune pretty well. I can get a fair pedal steel simulation out of the C6 neck with plenty of slides and slants, and the pickups sound very good.
I also have a small collection of nice vintage "planks" - Gibson BR-9, Fender Champ, Harmony H-1, Carvin (Kiesel), Guyatone, mostly rebuilt or restored by myself, in various tunings, which I've gigged sporadically over the last five years or so. I also have an MSA Sidekick Pro-Am 3+2 pedal steel which I've just started getting to grips with. Until I feel confident enough to take that one out in public, the Conchord remains my first choice stage instrument. Looking forward to increasing my knowledge of all things steel by browsing this forum. Best regards to you and all members, Len Liechti.
