Bob Diekmeier at GFI was really helpful, reasonable and prompt in sending parts. Absolutely no complaints there. Then, Bob 'The Polymath' Adams installed these in my guitar, overcoming a rather tricky problem in clearing a path for a new rod. Outstanding.

Thanks guys but I really do apologies to those who have asked me to do servicing or refurbs and I have had to say sorry I am up to my eyes at the minute.

Well now, take that Mr Surratt, that's all it took to fix Richard's problem. Jeff Surratt could have sent these items and gained himself a huge amount of respect from all ( no offence meant Mr Byng) but surely making a bodged job of fitting parts is the fault of the fitter not the manufacturer. In my humble opinion this is poor after sales service. In my experience a lot of the manufacturers seem reluctant to send parts overseas, what exactly is their problem when the purchaser pays the tab.
Is it too much hassle to stick something in a Jiffy Envelope and post it. Do they really expect us to send the guitars back them from Blighty.

None taken Willie. Mr Surratt is trying to take the risk of badly fitted replacement parts away from the hands of the buyers of his guitars. I'm never said that his policy is correct, but as he is a one man operator, his policy is his to make and his responsibility to absorb the impact on the reputation of Show Pro guitars. However with Richard's problem, the defective part/s can be fitted in minutes. After looking at the wear on the part that Richard had replaced by Bob, I checked my Show Pro under her skirt. Luckily there is no similar wear and tear on any aluminium parts that I can see.

I have made a mental note of the psg manufacturers who have excellent customer care values, and the best one that I have come across is Kyle Bennett from MSA, who not only sent me the parts that I needed to facilitate a Franklin pedal on my MSA but also sent me an MSA cap (buckshee) for my birthday. I also experienced good customer care from Mullen, even though I no longer own a Mullen. I bought a batch of superb knee lever flags for my Emmons from the Mullen web site and received them a week and a half later. I've also heard very good things about Sierra guitars. All 3 companies will send parts overseas to genuine customers, and the cost isn't so much the shipping charge but it is certainly the import duties and VAT at our end.

The reluctance to send goods overseas started with one Robert Kenneth Seymour, and I think that his decision actually cost him a considerable amount over the years. Other companies have followed his policy, but 3 independent guys in the USA who are very supportive of us guys in the UK are Clem Schmitz, Billy Knowles and Michael Yahl.

Dont you guys all know the reason for not sending goods over? Its all because of the Earths gravitational pull on the constructive fibres of the material that cause a catastrophic misalignment to 0.1 microns, resulting in an incompatible structure which resonates through the poly-graphamental extraneous surfaces, which in turn creates an intermittent graviton pulse. In other words,, a load of B*llsh*t... heh heh. Simples

I wholeheartedly agree, Davie, and it's obviously related to the world being flat.

But this bears no influence on the matter at hand; once Bob's round himself, he's still the best bet for Show Pro PSG spares. And, anyone with a disputatious standpoint, "sucks c%ck by choice!" (Quote courtesy of HBO television serial, Deadwood.)
