Schild 12 string and other items (John Roche.R.I.P.)

Sadly we lost another of our flock recently in an untimely manner.

John Roche passed away in hospital after some very trying times and several operations, John's wife, of forty years is feeling completely lost as you can imagine and 'as is the way these days' has the added job of moving John's gear. Marie has asked me to help in that regard. So I will put up the images and any interested parties pm me I will then put you in touch with Marie.

If anyone has firsthand knowledge of this manufacture of guitar feel free to pass it on but please try not to go too far 'off piste' and keep this to a 'For Sale' post for obvious reasons.

I can say at this point that John bought the guitar not long ago and paid 3000 Euros for it (£2750), as far as I can see the new price from Schild today is 5650 Swiss Francs / 5235 Euros or £4798.

There is also a Seat and a Hilton Pedal and an assortment of strings (not sure on the make would need to confirm)

Prices: I see no reason why the guitar should not fetch the above price £2750


A fair price on the seat and the pedal could be £160 each.

I do not intend to get involved in any transactions or shipping I will simply put any interested party in touch with Marie. I should say the items are in Spain not that matters in modern day courier traffic.

All of John's equipment is of the very highest quality. I met Peter Schild when a friend took me to his place when I was playing in Zurich, Switzerland in 1980. Even then his engineering capabilities were obvious, and that guitar of Johnny Roche's is highly sought after, especially in the USA. Anyone buying the guitar, seat and volume pedal as a package couldn't beat it for quality. Might be worth advertising the rig on the USA forum too Bob.

I am confident that Marie will get a successful outcome from the current interest this side of the pond but if not I will certainly fire it onto the US Forum Ken.

John was a friend of mine, may he rest in peace, I too was asked if I could help find a home for his guitar etc, and would gladly help if I could but this is a hard row to hoe when the gear is virtually unknown in the UK and though the quality is not in dispute, without being able to show and demonstrate it then it is not easy to find a buyer here and Marie is adamant that it will be sold in Spain. I wish her all the best with the sale and agree with Bob's pricing but it is I fear, not going to be that easy.
If Ken does promote it on the US forum that may well be the best way forward although shipping /import duty etc would probably apply.
If anyone in UK or EU is looking to move up from student model to some real Pro. gear I would urge them to go for this deal as they will not do better for the price, If this is for you, try Rand Logistics on line for a freight quote, I reckon it could all be bought back to UK for about 70 GB£
