RIP Tom Bannister.

Postby Ken Byng » Fri Sep 25, 2020 11:28 am

My best buddy Tommy Bannister sadly passed away last night due to breathing difficulties.

He had a severe stroke 16 years ago which stopped his musical abilities on lead and pedal steel guitar. Tom was an outstanding player of both instruments, and always played with great taste and tone. He was from my home town of Southampton, and was highly respected by his musical peers of the same generation.

My condolences go to his wife Maureen, their daughters and grandchildren. RIP mate, you were a proper muso. :( :(

I've been given the details of Tom Bannister's funeral from his widow Maureen. He is being cremated at the Crematorium, East Chapel, Basset, Southampton, SO16 3QB. The funeral will take place on Friday 9th October, at 4.00pm.

Because of the limited amount of space for mourners due to Covid 19 restrictions, the funeral will be live streamed or made available for download afterwards. When Maureen is able to provide me with the link, I will put it on here for those who would like to see the service remotely.
