Fender Deluxe-8 steel guitar

Postby JimB66 » Sat Jun 13, 2020 7:19 pm

A classified ad for my c.1970 Fender Deluxe-8 is now up and running on Reverb UK. I am not advertising it here yet simply because I am unsure what value to put on it. Recorded prices have varied considerably on Reverb and some seem downright silly so I am using the Reverb ad as a feeler to see what reaction I get. If anyone here would like to suggest a serious ;) valuation I would find that helpful thanks.

There are ten photographs on reverb but here are a couple as being indicative.

Thanks John.

I have been asked in my McKenna 8-string thread to post a link to the Reverb UK classified ad for the Fender Deluxe-8. I hope doing so does not break any forum rule? If so please delete admins.

As mentioned above, the price in the Reverb thread is just a feeler and I would welcome the views of experienced members here on whether that is a reasonable valuation.

Thanks

I think that's a good price you had in mind, I would be surprised if it don't sell soon.
I'm considering... myself being located in Belgium is a bit of a challenge

JanO just out of interest I looked at courier rates for sending the Deluxe-8 to Belgium. The best deal was DHL European Road through Overland Express, two day delivery and fully insured, which worked out at around £45 inc VAT. UPS Economy 2-3 day delivery worked out around £7 -£8 more. So surprisingly not very much more expensive than sending within the UK.

By the way Overland Express specialises in shipping musical instruments and their insurance cover takes account of that.

It doesn't address a preference to view the instrument first of course but is perhaps something to mull over?

The sale of the Deluxe-8 to a buyer through Reverb has now been completed. He is not a member here but I have given him details of the forum so hopefully he might join.

Admin please archive this thread now. Thanks.
