On a more serious note, this is a clip from a reso guitar that is fitted with a Schatten RG-03 passive piezo. As you will hear, it is a very good reproduction.

That sounds great Ken. I'll definitely be buying the Fishman at some point.

The Achilles heel of the Franklin Pedabro was its suitability for live work. They just weren't loud enough on the average gig.
If you were Paul Franklin with a mega sound crew you were fine but I don't think Big Dave, sound man of the local WMC, could get them loud enough mic'd without feeding. Back then they purely had to be mic'd up because I don't believe they had Piezos, they just had a neck installed BL705 which when used, just made it sound like an archtop guitar. I'd still rather be mic'd when I can, especially in the studio but when it isn't possible, the Fishman and a proper Piezo are a very good back up plan. The difference is very small and lets be honest, the average punter on a night out wouldn't notice a thing. People actually think I'm a good steel player on a Saturday night! Beer does funny things.

In the studio however, well the results were bliss on the Franklin mic'd. That's where it really came into it's own.
I've been listening to a guy called Dan Seals lately. He had Paul playing Pedabro on 2 entire finger-style, acoustic country albums. Sounds unreal some of the jangly steel riffs on the Pedabro. Really spices up the music and considering you're one of the only people in the country with a Pedal Resonator, they could really shake up the British Country and Americana sound for sure. Chop Chop

I've always been fond of this sound since I was age 16 when I first heard these things existed. As a skint 16 year old playing a Carter Starter, I could only dream of getting a Show Pro, let alone a 5 figures Pedal Dobro. Now, this isn't as unobtainable. Thanks for all the help.

Now all I need to decide is do I tell people its a Pedal Dobro or Pedal Resonator?
Pedal Dobro will off the purists because as we know, Dobro is a brand and not an instrument.
Pedal Resonator however will confuse 95% of people when they ask me what instruments I play
