[b]No Baz I did not. I am probably the only person on here that thinks it was well over priced, you can say it is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it but some people have very deep pockets and do not even have to ask the price so you don't have a level playing field when something a bit rare comes along but, the thing that does level it a bit is there is a good chance that a man in a position to buy a Franklin is probably never going to sound very much like Paul Franklin,
Just because I own a push pull I am never gonna sound like Mike Johnson or Emmons and from the other angle put Paul behind any of the top range guitars out there that sell for half as much and I am sure he would still blow your mind.
I am now Ducking my head down>>>>>>>

John I think that is a very accurate statement. In my six string guitar playing days I was (am) a big Hank Marvin fan, I have the same Amps, guitars, echo's etc. but I'm still 'no Hank Marvin'! A bit like the saying, 'all the gear and no idea'.

As a newbie to steel guitar I suppose we all try to be like our hero's, and having a top of the range Franklin Guitar (or similar) makes us feel we are heading in the right direction. The rest is up to how we play.

The Franklin which sold at auction last week is now being advertised by Essex recording studio at £11,999
A nice wee profit of at least £7700

I would guess the original seller would have received around £2800 after the auctioneers take.
