Hi,
David Cotton reminded me about this group.
I was taught E7/E13 6 stringmany years ago by Bristol Bill. Then lapsed for many years...I have a Gibson HG 100 in C6 and an unnamed twin 8.
I corresponded for many years with Kealoha Life - he suggested a tuning for the twin 8 ...lost in my files but maybe somebody out there can help.
I also play guitar, banjo, mandolin etc
Like David, I also write a regular column for BMG magazine.

Welcome Dave,
I'm sure you'll get what you're looking for on here. I would suggest Basil Henriques is the man to contact for info on all things Hawaiian. Good luck.

Yes, Buy a Basil Bar. Speak to him, let him know your requirements and you will get a bar you will never get rid of. Donny.

Hi Dave and welcome. I'm just outside Bedale, N.Yorks, so we can't be too far apart! There's a free steel guitar festival here (North of England Steel Guitar Festival) on the second weekend in August (talk to me for details) and fairly frequent local meetings of "North East Steelies" - look for posts by Keith ('Nevada150') for details of that. :D

Hi Dave,
Following on from Tony’s message. The North East Steelies meet in the Buck Inn at Thornton Watlass about every 2 months. Its a congenial mixture of PSG and Lap Steel players of varying levels of experience. The big thing is that there are no egos allowed through the door. Our meetings usually consist of a couple of Round Robins played to backing tracks which are sent to all members, then all attendees can play any tunes that they have prepared themselves. Also we have general “join in” jam along to Rod King’s vast back catalogue.
The landlady gives us the use of the room free of charge for our meetings, which normally commence around midday on a Sunday.
At present due to the Coronavirus things are on hold, but watch the Forum and hopefully we’ll have a meeting in the near future and you’ll be very welcome.
Keith.

Thanks Keith, thats just about an hour up the A1 from me. Please keep me posted of dates - we've had to cancel ukulele and banjo events, even Morris dance outs for the next couple of months.
