You'd have thought that he'd keep a spare in his jacket pocket! Guitarists usually have a few plectrums ready to grab and play in case of loss or breakage, surely a spare steel would be a good idea?

You have to feel sorry for Mark Wayne there.

These days, I carry 9 bars in a special case in my seat, but back in the 70's I had just one bar. On hot sweaty nights, it wasn't uncommon for my stainless bar to squirt out of my grip and fall onto the stage. These days I use a polymer bar which really does stay put in the hand. My friend Dave Nash fitted a ring on the flat end of his bar to put his thumb through many years ago. I was never tempted to go down that route, but I've never seen Dave drop his bar - ever.
