Maurice,
Making your own guitar gives great pleasure when it's finished but the challenges that crop up during construction could drive you to drink!
You have made a really good job of the fretboard and it's not easy cutting the fret lines and finishing off the surface without doing any damage to the frets.
Ash is a good choice of wood ( even though you had little input ) and you have made a good job of the binding, abalone for the binding was a good choice, even if you can't claim the credit for thinking about putting it there in the first place!
I made a 7 stringer from a scrap piece of wood ( mahogany ) that had been lying in a neighbours back garden and again it has a scale length of 622mm or 24 1/2" in old money, your's being 628mm or 24 3/4" should sound even better, especially with that pup!
You can hear and see my guitar on a previous post "Vox MV50 conclusion"
I think your instrument will sound even better, so post a video of you sitting playing your guitar in the sun and well done for making it in the first place!
Regards
Robert
