Changing copedant?

Hi,

I recently picked up a used Mullen D-10. I think the guitar is great, but my "RKL" only lowers the G# to G, and I would prefer it to go down to F#.

Is this a simple thing to change?

Mullen is a great guitar and easy to work on, should not be a problem.

That's good to hear, thanks. Is it just a case of tightening the correct hex tuner, until it changes the note by my desired amount?

You need to see that the "dead-stop" will allow the KL to move sufficiently to achieve the change you want. So don't just crank away at the nylon tuning nut in the end plate, look underneath and find the screw that restricts the KL movement and adjust until the the pull rod can get the string to F#.
1. see that the nylon tuner nut just clears the finger "at rest".
2. operate the KL and adjust the dead stop until you can get to F#. You may have to do this lying on your back underneath if you can't support the guitar upside down and still hear the string. A case of - turn screw a tad, check; turn, check; turn. . . etc.etc.
3. give it a very small additional turn (maybe an 8th of a turn, no more, will be enough) for clearance.
4. sit at the guitar and fine-tune using the nylon nut.
If that's too long of a KL move, you may need to hook the pull rod onto a different bell-crank hole further away from the body of the guitar.

Thank you everyone. I now know what I have to do, but unfortunately the bolt and/or nut on the stop seem to have seized up, so I think I'll have to remove the stop from the guitar to get it unstuck. Doesn't seem too difficult to do though.

It may not be seized, have you loosened the lock-nut first? An anticlockwise nudge on the nut should loosen the screw, adjust it as needed, then jam the nut back up (clockwise) against the bracket to lock the screw in place. Just nip it up, no great force needed.
