I'm tentatively putting out feelers to see what's out there (and if I can afford it).
Has anyone got a twin 8 string console guitar that's possibly for sale? Obviously first choice would be Fender, but would be interested to hear of any others.

Thanks for the tip off Mick, but I can't find it! Tried several searches with "Guyatone" in the box, but even with 'wildcards' it's not showing up

They turn up occasionally on the US forum, but nobody there seems able to ship outside of the States! I'll let you know if I see another.
