What can I say about this Forum and Community

Postby gwmpy » Mon Feb 11, 2019 5:36 pm

Hey All,
Don't know if this is the right place to put this, but felt that I needed to say something about the people on here.
Ever since I got bitten by the bug.....I bought my first Dobro from Richard Stanton(coldsteel) on the forum and on visiting his home to collect the guitar, found the perfect gentlemen.
Since that time, he has been a true friend and offered advice, help and beyond.(can't wait to show you the pedal steel when it arrives).
Move forward to this week, where after watching a video of John Davis playing and his advice video's, I thought, that's it, I have to buy a Pedal Steel.I even posted the comment on the forum.
So, I've taken the deep plunge and bought one from Geefresh on the forum. In doing so, I have had such great help and advice from Richard, John and also Ted Nesbitt whom I had a great telephone conversation with yesterday. All being well, I will meet him next week :D Many thanks to you all.
I just felt compelled to write something on the forum to say what a great bunch you guys are and all the help and advice is really appreciated.
There is a great spirit in this community,
Many thanks
Graham

What can I say about this Forum and Community
Well, You could say "we don't Fart much" but it would be a lie! Watch out for any steel player listing at an angle exceeding 87.5 degree's either to port or starboard  :guitar:

And there should be a special extra ‘blue badge’ for guys like the one above who keep the thing alive. 3940 posts! Serious commitment....... Looking back to the old posts, there was a time when almost anything you could want to know about was discussed and its all there. However, a ‘live’ discussion is so much better even if it has been dealt with many times.
Cheers

Graham welcome to the forum where humour is added to every serious topic :P
Regards J. D's comment there are a few SSGW members who are very prone to " farting about at the steel " no matter what angle they sit at.
One member in particular is so blatant about it, he's become well known on this forum as " asleep at the steel "
Regards
Robert
No longer slummin, I’ve got a Mullen and a damn good amp as well,
they’ll be well played, if not played well, seat time alone must tell!

Sid, I started a serious topic last night about a steel guitar app but the tone of it has degenerated into the usual comedy routine   , I'm quite sure you could put it back on track by reading it and ignoring some of the pictures
a sensible comment about my post, from you, yourself, personally, would be greatly appreciated :P :guitar: :guitar:
P. S.
Graham, you can look at it as well, same as everyone else! :) ;)

Thanks All,
For those players who have bowel trouble when they are playing, just in case you produce a wet one, this is the idea Pedal Steel Seat. When dry, it can be used to store all sorts of Pedal Steel goodies,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KA20JkiqQ0
Notice, it does have adjustable height so if you are a tall faster or a short faster, its ideal.

Should have been Ideal seat, and tall farter or short farter. That will teach me to check the spellchecker
