Hi Sid,
Thank you for your kind suggestion.
It is a Shubb bar SP1 that I have just got after trying a socket bar and the chrome icing dispenser from my wife's cookery set!

Unfortunately it is finger weakness that is the problem, I just don't have the grip strength. Some day's are better than others.
I have been having treatment at Charing Cross Hospital for about nine years, with steroids, IVIG etc. but sadly to no avail. It appears that there isn't much else they can do.

Hi Baz,
Sorry that you are having difficulty handling your tonebar.
Time and practice may help. If you can find a retailer stocking these Shubb tonebars
You could try to see if it helps your grip. Regards John Stafford

Hi John,

That is what I have done with my bar....I have stuck a piece of pipe lagging on it with masking tape!

It does help, so now I will try and make a better job of it.

Regards,
Baz.

Latest update with holding the tonebar.

My Shubb SP1 Bar has a groove both sides for the thumb and third finger, and a groove on the top for the first finger.

I got two pieces of velcro, about a half inch wide, folded one end on each piece and sewed it to make a small loop, and threaded a cable tie through.
I put the cable tie tightly around the tonebar longway's.

I now have an adjustable loop of velcro over my first finger which I can lift the the tonebar with and help me control it. I hope some of that makes sense!

Regards,
Baz.
