I'm just outside Leeds in Yorkshire John - not quite on the doorstep I'm afraid. Happy to cover postage of course but as my knowledge of steels is extremely limited, I have no idea what a Framus 8 string looks like. I'm familiar with their guitars (my Dad used to play a Black Rose). Do you have any pics.. or even a model so I can look it up?

Hi ANDY Here's a pic, will try to make a vid tom so you can see, it's a nice sounding steel in C6 I call it Fluffy, has new strings on.

Wow! That's a finish I've not seen before. I can't work out from those 2 pics whether it's blue or burgundy but yes please, it'd be really useful to hear it on video, thanks to you both. By coincidence I'll be at P'bro services on Sunday morning, it'll be the closest I've been to St. Neots in a couple of years.... shame 'fluffy' is on holiday. :D

Hi Andy, the pic in the case is the color, the other pic is because I had it in the wrong place so the lighting was wrong, it's not all blue.

Thanks for doing that, it's much appreciated. I do have to ask the obvious question though... why is it covered in (what looks like) felt?

Because that is the way Framus made them........ and if you play it on your lap ....it stays there while you are playing. Not exactly like Velcro but it does a similar job.

Sorry, I'd assumed (maybe because I've never seen anything like it) that it had been 'customised'. None slip makes sense. When do you get it back John (or when could you post it out?). It looks to be a very short scale but that may be the angle of the pics. Cheers, Andy
