With just one knee lever I would transfer pedal 7 to that lever.
Although it's not particularly relevant, I'm still using G as the 1st string and lowering the 2nd E to D on a lever.

Like you Tony I use a high G and not a D. With Jimmy Day setup he raises string 1 from G to G#. Sounds horrible in any combination for how I play so will remove that change. Can still get that D with pedal 7.

John D. If it's any help - Jimmy Day uses one lever and drops C to B.

Have been toying around with my version of Georgia on my Mind and there are some lovely chords appearing. May even put it on soundcloud over the weekend for a short spell. As usual I have not got a clue what chords I am playing. Never did know. Chord theory goes right over my head. I just find the dominant note I want the chord for and try it on different strings with different pedal/lever combinations until I find something that fits. Thats the way I always work.

Mick - with a G on top, I use that high G-G# in several places. Here's one example: Misty (as a ballad).

I can't get the pedal/kl instructions to fit over the tab! So: kick in the C to B kl. on "me", and press peds. 5&6 as you slide up to fret 8. The harmonies below the melody (top) note are not set in stone, try the tune and see what feels best for you; you might find it easier to keep the same gaps at first.

I am glad the topic has created a bit of interest and discussion, my reasoning to raise that 3rd string to get another major chord is, once I have 3 chords below the 12th fret I can by running from one to the other gain entry to a neck that has mystified me for years, I know about half as much about chords etc. as Mr Hearne and it may be a simplistic approach but tis the only one I have

John, you use a D on top don't you? In that case having the 3rd raise gives you back the top G by moving up 3 frets (so, in key of G, based on fret 7, that would mean moving up to fret 10) kicking in the 3rd raise and picking from string 2 down you get the G chord with the G (the tonic; and I like G with tonic) on top.
But, trust me, you still need the 3rd lower too!

Don't know much about your guitar John but do your cross shafts go right across the guitar? If so I would be looking at attaching a bellcrank and pull rod to one of your E9 levers. That way you could have a raise and a lower. Would not make much difference to the string on E9 as it's not being used, and when on E9 your C6 is not in use. Just a thought.

Thanks for the replies, Mick I have got raise and lower on my Emmons of the 3rd string I also have a lever to lower the 4th But I have recently acquired a Pro 3 that only had the one lever on C6th , I have just added two more pulls by adding another teardrop and utilizing one of the E 9th levers now it has the same as the Emmons The Pro111 now needs a new home if anyone is interested it is a sweet guitar..

The 4th string lower is something that B.Emmons used. I don't have that, but I do use the 4th raise to Bb (as opposed to the two pedals that raise it to B). Emmons had 4th string both raise and lower on KLs, I believe.
As I have 4KLs on C6th already, it looks like another vertical is on the way
