Hi Donny, can I make a suggestion, Ive just destroyed the world I'm living in.
I think it is an old Ray Price shuffle, and as all steel players know, " it don't git no better than that".

Some dodgy lookin' geezers that were hanging around in Gartcosh last night. I've no idea why they're all horizontal  apart from Reg??, they were vertical when I snapped them. Apologies for the blurred Dougie, this was due to the dreaded, shaky mitt.
A great turn out :guitar: , and as I was the audience, thanks for some lovely playing lads.

It was a wee bit formless, though. How about, as well as the monthly tune, everyone (and I mean, everyone) shows what they've been working on, and if any help can be offered, all the better. And, should the monthly tune prove too challenging, how about bringing a tune of your own choice? Another thought could be, to bring an acoustic, set up a mic, and while somebody gives us a song, some one (or two) could do a bit of backup?
Excuse the rambling, please, just some random thoughts to keep the pot boiling.

Like all the ideas from the audience there! If someone sang a song, I would half a chance of sounding not too bad when up against the masters. Backup is where I’m coming from though I do have a hankering to try Theme from the Godfather....
A bit of a random night right enough but I got lots of good feedback and banter not to mention several things to work on. I struggle with the acoustics in that hall so next time I shall be wearing my Vegas amp as a pair of headphones..
Cheers

Hanker away Calum! That's a very interesting choice and I look forward to hearing it.

Wullie regards your suggestion of " I've just destroyed the World I'm living in " I know your more than capable of doing so, but I think we should all join in and help you destroy the world. :guitar: :guitar:
Calum I know you've been complaining because you've got a few screws loose but it's a bit ambitious wanting to take on the " Godfather " when you've only got a Vegas amp to use as a pair of earphones
Danny is full of bright ideas and his suggestion of all playing the same tune and going on to do another of our choice  would lead to an interesting evening, especially if the "Godfather" turned up with his team as a support act 8-) :guitar: :guitar:
Danny regards the photie of Dougie was your hand shaking at the thought of snapping an icon of the steel guitar 8-) , ('cause he's been on the telly u' know), or are shaky mitts the after effects of your " velvet Elvis " the day before :?:
Looking forward to the "new" format and getting Coshed again next month. :guitar: :guitar:
No longer slummin, I’ve got a Mullen and a damn good amp as well,
they’ll be well played, if not played well, seat time alone must tell!

Danny, I like your random thoughts, It's a great idea. I'm certainly up for that. We have been needing a change of direction. . I agree with Mr Gamble on the tune of the month, does anyone have a track or will I do a BAIB one ?. More comments please. Donny.

A week's gone by since last week, Mr Gamble named a song
I think that it's a cracker, what a choice, we can't go wrong!
Lord Donald has endorsed it ( and he's leader of the pack. )
His words have fell on deaf ears, 'cos we need a backing track.
Since no one has responded, I must give a sigh
" I think I've just destroyed the world "
alas the end is nigh!
Can someone out there help us
Band In Box or MP3 :?:
A backing track could save the world,
and with luck, it might save me!
The real Rabbie 8-) :guitar:

I have a backing track but its from my recording of the same song as on Soundcloud. Let me know your wishes. I will be playing this on the Sunday of NESGF so the backing track I use has some solos from other intruments. Also it is Buddy speed so may not be slow enough for some. Search for Mike Hearn on soundcloud and have a listen and if suitable I can email it to someone.
ShoBud 6139 - Remington Steelmaster - George Boards 8 String - Gretsch Country Gent - National Twin 8 Console x 2 - National New Yorker and a shed full of guitars.
