In addition to late entrant Jimmy Pritchard, we have Ray Hill from Exeter coming along. Ray is a very good player, all round good egg and will be a very welcome addition.

A huge thank to all of those performers and others who attended at the weekend. We matched last year for atmosphere and enjoyment factor. The hall is booked already for next year (8th & 9th of June 2019).

Thanks for your typically generous words Donny. I will try to get to Thornton Watlass for the 11th & 12th of Aug, but it's a bit up in the air at the moment. I will say that Mick Hearn has some real eye openers in his program, so those intending to go have something to look forward to.

Time for me to add a few words & some photos of the Festival.
It was a last minute decision for me, and well worth the trip to meet up with old friends and make new ones.
It was a pleasure to finally meet up with Spencer Scott, who gave an outstanding performance.

There were many different makes of steels (see photos) & styles played and all to a very high & professional standard.
Most of my time was spent behind the mixing desk, balancing the various tracks for the 'boys', and to the best of my knowlege, not a single tune was repeated. That's got to be a first.

Now looking forward to next years SESGF.

I always get a kick out of seeing other people's equipment, I even enjoy seeing other player's guitars, and that was a fine display on show at the SESGF. Nice to see Sheffields being well represented. The ingenuity award must go to Mick Hearn for his use of a zimmer(I think) as a stand, brilliant. My Granny was the leader of the 'Make Do And Mend Party' and she would greatly approve.
