North East Steelers - next meeting

Postby Nick Bidmade » Tue Sep 05, 2017 4:28 pm

The next meeting of the North East steelers will be on 22 October, 12 noon to around 5,00pm, at the Buck Inn, Thornton Watlass,. I guess that makes us the BuckInnEers (when I'm hot, I'm hot!)
It's a Hank Williams flavoured session, with Mansion on the Hill and Cold, Cold Heart being the two featured tunes. Keith and Derek will be putting backing tracks together and I'll send these out when I have them.
We are now up to 11 BuckInnEers and there are a couple of 'regulars' from way down the A1 who often come up to join us, so it would be really helpful if folks could let me know if they are coming (just so we know numbers). Everyone is welcome - pedallers or plank-players, any standard (or none), with or without an instrument.
The Buck Inn offers great beers and good food. Could there be anything better on a Sunday afternoon?

The BuckInNeers, I love it Nick.
Well this is one "Eer" who'll be there, and anyone else will be made very welcome regardless of ability, 'cos mine is limited!

Reminds me of the old one about the guy who goes to a fancy dress party:

"What are you, then?"
"I'm a pirate"
"Could've fooled me! Where's your buccaneers?"
"Under me buckin' hat!"

Boom! Boom!

There I was, thinking how clever I was to have thought up the BuckInnEers name, when Tony told me not only has it been used before, but there's even a tune - the 'Buck Inn Bounce' that the BuckInnEers played! I'm hoping he's going to teach it to us. :guitar: :guitar:
