Hello Everybody,

I am Mark aka jAZZbASS, I have been a member for quite a long time but I think my membership lapsed as did my time with a borrowed steel that really wasn't very easy to play, (noisy, microphonic and a real lack of any local tuition)

I am currently looking to buy a PSG and am at the moment leaning towards a new (modern) machine (or second hand) and would like an SD10 4 + 5 (P Franklin set up) like A Mullen, a Rains or one of Dave Wheelhouses "Sheffield" machines. I have put a few feelers out with a few of the well known members, and would just like to use this post to say hello and to widen the search for a suitable PSG. Cash waiting for the right machine.

I am based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. We have met John, I came to your place must have been several years ago now, and spoken on the phone, you probably didn't recognise the handle. The above request is pretty much what we talked about on the phone. I don't want to use this opportunity the advertise my business but I was thinking it may be possible, once I've bought a steel that in exchange for a days worth of lesson I could either pay in cash or offer the teacher and his/her band, a days recording in my home based studio... the day rate seems to be about the same.

You are not that far away Mark and as I said before you are welcome to come over and spend a few hours, whether either of us would learn anything or not is unknown but there is no charge for that here and most of us that can play a little bit have the facility to record already.....

I have found and purchased a steel guitar now, so this thread can be closed/archived. But may I take this opportunity to thanks all of those who have helped me in my quest.... now the fun begins......
