I just spent a very pleasant lunch hour with Joe putting the Emmons through it's paces! Awesome guitar. If I didn't have mouths to feed etc...
I didn't get time to try out the LDG in the window... or the Fender 800 in the corner! Having worked in a music shop on Charing Cross Road for many years and been a semi regular visitor to Denmark Street since I was a teenager I can tell you that being able to walk into a shop there and try out 3 pedal steels is something that hasn't happened in probably 20 years, since Boogie Music (the former Sho Bud shop) closed down. Last time I saw a pedal steel in Denmark street was a stricken MSA lying in bits on the floor of Hanks about 10 years ago. Quite a sorry sight.
Anyway, we have Joe to thank for the current state of affairs. If you're in striking distance, get yourself down there, make a noise and show that there is interest!
Yes there are a few details wrong on the website and yes you are seeing "London Prices" but I think this is a moment to celebrate, not quibble and kvetch over details. At my old shop they had the profit-per-square-foot worked out so a steel guitar wasn't even viable - even if any staff had known what one looked like. Being able to hang out in a bricks and mortar guitar shop, play and shoot the shit about pedal steels is something valuable that we've lost - it literally hasn't happened to us in a generation (BTW there were two other steelies in the shop at the same time as me, just by chance, hanging out and chatting

imagine!).
Get in touch with Joe, tell him when you're coming.
