It's gone a bit quiet but... this is on Saturday! :guitar:

I'm looking forward to meeting some of you fine fellas for the first time and catching up with familiar faces. Who else is going? Anyone coming to watch put not picking? Is there a running order or anything?
I've been practicing some tunes, cleared the way with the missus and the kids, booked a B&B, giving some steelies a lift...

It's definitely happening...

...right...? :?

It's definitely on Jon!

I am going up on Friday night and like you am looking forward to meeting everyone. I have a gig on Thursday night in Bournemouth, so I will be warmed up for the weekend.
I understand that there will be a good sized audience, so it will make the trek worthwhile for all of us. 8-) 8-)

I swapped emails with Ron Kew earlier this week. He tells me he isn't trying to organise a running order until he sees who turns up. Reckons there are always problems with people not wanting to play early, or late, or after "him", or indeed before "him", or even failing to turn up at all!!!!! Each slot will be 20 minutes, with the possible exception of the "stars" perhaps, and we can expect to get 2 or 3 slots over the weekend. Somehow I don't think it should be down to me to pass on this info but as I have been told some of the answers to the questions posed I thought I'd pass it on. I also have heard Digby will not be there because of a family illness.

Anyway, it had better be on. I shall be travelling up Saturday morning and again on Sunday - I'm about an hour and a half from home - so looking forward to meeting up with all you like minded folk. And remember - no heckling - the idea of playing in front of an audience of steel players and steel enthusiasts is daunting enough without brickbats!

Onwards and upwards!

Bob - a couple of things to get straight. There are no 'stars' booked on this show. The one or two people in the UK who are legends in their own minds are not coming. ;)

Re heckling - I know that you said it with tongue in cheek, but there will be best of order throughout. Only the person who is one stage will be playing. Also the audience will have to respect the artists when they are playing.

Re the batting order, I don't know when I'm due on. When I played at the Irish festival I drew the short straw and was first on. But at least I got it over and done with. :D

NOPE I AM coming Ken, I will be on my best behaviour and promise not to annoy Pat..I'll keep the Hawaiian stuff to a minimum ( 1 tune) and steer clear of the down home shit kickin' Country. ..No Emmons, No Console or Lap steel, Just my Fender 1000, Pat and a couple of small amps.. we require a space 7 foot by 3 foot six and it can be anywhere other than the stage please..
BTW is there a local Cricket Match happening close by ? You know why I ask..

OK guys. I see you're taking all in the spirit it is meant. Hope it continues like that.

I think it is reasonable to assume that those who have earned their living playing steel guitar should be able to play more tunes without getting stumped for material. No use asking some of us to play for an hour or more. We'd clear the hall long before that!

I'll keep my tongue firmly in my cheek till after the weekend. Please don't take me too seriously.

Oh, Ken.....no politics. It should all be over by then. ;)
