You can't possibly imagine how I miss these days! A fabulous amalgam of like minded PSG trekkies bouncing licks and industry Criac!

Alas treasured memories now as we have lost all too many:

Big John S the master of the Tele, Jimmy, belting it out on his Carter (bless him) and of course Eric (he just had to be there to be 'the force')

Mark, Dessa, Dave K (hope your lass is well, think of her more than you know!) Richard, Basil, Rod, Digby, Dave S, Jimmy Pr, Pete L, Henry S, Henry N, Mick H, Jason, Will, Peter, John R, John G, Matt, Shaun, Harry, Ted.. forgive me if I have missed your name at this point I'll edit it when my memory kicks in!

And not least my good friends the McLarens who were always so faithful on meet & greet"

But do you know? ............... I miss this fellow and so wish he was as active as he was when this video was shot!

Ken said on a recent post ... our playing is driven by emotion! Well I believe we have it here, when DH looks over to me at the end of this video as if to say , does that do it?? Now there is a tear in my eye! So I guess it does!




As for John Davis..........

You were the star and I know it was such an effort. these were wonderful days and all thanks to you .. how I wish we could do it all again tomorrow!

Who knows! Perhaps we will???

This was my first attendance at such a meeting and also at steel playing as my steel had been confined to the back of the garage for many years and eventually sold. I was convinced that I could not really play it. Don't ask why. Perhaps my goals were too high and not reaching them. Or was it because someone had relayed to me many years ago that Dave had said my playing was crap. I took it too hard instead of trying to prove him wrong.

It was during that long play along of Together Again that Dave announced over the PA "I want you to listen to this one - it's gonna be great" and then put the mike next to my amp. What a shock - me? My stomach was in my mouth as I played those notes. Then Derek Thurlby called over "Vibrato" - in other words cut it down. Then during the break Mark said "You're no beginner" to which I replied "I never said I was." You will never know what those words all meant.

What I am getting at here is that these meetings are so important to give others encouragement, or like me to get their confidence up. We need more of them - lots more.

OK so my playing is crap in comparison to Dave but I am now playing crap with confidence and have gone off in my own direction.

Bring it back soon - please.

If you want a true friend you can rely on be it an Adams or a Mc Laren or just about any of those guys from north of the border you need look no further  , how nice of you not just to remember but to record for others to get something from it. Mr.Adams I salute you, you are a true gent!
A couple of Icons that were regular attendee’s Basil/ Pat, Rod and Rosemary deserve a mention, I was elated when Digby and Baz chose my humble gathering to honour Gordon and present his medal to Jeff and Lisa.
I did hope that when I did the last meeting someone would step up and keep it going and D.H did have a stab at it but it is a labour of love and takes far more effort than people realise.

Yes you are right JD, It is a labour of love and certainly take far more effort than people realise. Don't we just know that . Just ask the Irish Fest, Donny Johnston, the BSS meetings and yourself.
