Very strange, for most, tuning Chris.

In Eb (I play with a lot of horn players):

1, 4, 5, 1, 2, 4, 5, b4

You can't rely on standard "memory" open tuning playing but once you play around with it a bit it allows a lot of flexibility.
It's also about string tension for me a lot. I'm really into Indian/Hindustani players as well and they typically use 1, 2 and 4 for the lead lines.

I'm using it for a live recording of Cornelius Cardew's massive 193 page graphic score of Treatise in January.
That should be a trip! Very important piece. I'm honored to be included in the "orchestra".

Flatted 4th, or as my music school buddy would say "that's a flatted, flatted 4th". In Eb it's a G.
So Eb, Ab, Bb, Eb, F, Ab, Bb, G
