Ben Burrow tone-bar

Postby WineRider » Wed Jul 13, 2016 12:50 pm

I have just unpacked the tone-bar I ordered from Ben Burrow...what a masterpiece. I have been looking for the thread from Will C about Ben's bars but cannot now, find it. So to all those who spend a fortune of USof A tone bars go no farher than [email protected].

I sent an e-mail nquiry for a custom made bar and had a very quick positive reply and all I had to pay was £35.00 which included postage to me in France...7 days from door to door with the w/e in between is pretty fast service along with a beautifully finished bar which suits my dodgy left hand. The mirror finish is good enough to use for a shave!!!! But in all honesty this bar has made all the others I have redundant, even those I thought were good do not compare at all, and three were made by an engineer here in France, who I thought was good, but I now know he wasn't that good.

Thanks to all who posted and commented on the thread and an even bigger thank you to BEN BURROW.

Ken, Roger Ben has made an old man very happy. He deserves all the credit Ken because he pay's attention to customisasion...rare indeed in this world. It has generated a confidence when I first used it, no hard pressure, silky smooth on the strings. When you get yours Roger I hope you are as impressed as I am.

Good quality is hard to find...in Ben Burrow you've found it.

I am a man of many opinions, some good, some bad and some down-right awful...but they are all mine. This is the best £35.00 I've spent for a very long time.

I sure my playing wont live up to the quality of the bar, but I can be flash when I show people the Custom Made Ben Burrow Tone Bar   :guitar: :ugeek:

Got mine last night and have now become my favourite bars!

Silky smooth on the strings, Ive never tried a BJS bar so cant compare but they're better than the powder coated ones from the States I'm currently using.

Ben sent me one of his Stainless bars and one of his new Bronze ones. The stainless one I cant fault at all its fantastic, the bronze one has a bit of drag on the strings but it looks like pure gold :)

Thanks for your kind words Maurice I'm glad you're pleased with your bar. I must admit I rather liked it myself. Maurice had his bar bored out and I blanked the end off with a piece of polished Ally Bronze which I thought looked rather nice. I'm thinking of adding this feature to my standard bars as an optional extra.

Will I humbvly apologise for the error, I got so excited when I recieved the bar I couldn't rightly engage brain, so I hope you accept my apologises.

You were so accurate with your appraissal of this bar. It has added more than I expected from 'just a bar' to my ability to feel not only confidence but because it has been custom made I have a left hand that doesn't ache or get sore, during playing, or afterwards. My hand will never be perfect...or my playing...but I am enjoying myself more than ever.

THANK YOU FOR THE ORIGINAL POST.

Hi Maurice,
I think I was the first to bring these bars to the notice of the Forum back in May. I've been using mine with my Lap Steel guitars daily and so far there's no deterioration in the "ease of slide". Obviously a Lap Steel entails more bar movement than a PSG. I don't think any "Forumite" should pay over the odds for a decent bar and Ben's readiness to "Customise" his bars must make him the best supplier in the UK.
